Who runs this site
This site is kept by former members of Port Hedland Pilots as a record of the company’s history from 1995 to 2025. Contact the curators at [email protected].
What we collect
When you request access we store your name, email address, your connection to Port Hedland Pilots and anything you tell us to help us recognise you. When you share photos or stories we store them along with the details you add, such as dates, vessels and names.
Where it is kept
The website is hosted in Australia. Full-size original photos are archived in the heritage group’s Microsoft 365 (SharePoint) storage. We do not sell or share your details, and we only email you about your account and your contributions.
Members-only and public content
You choose whether each photo or story is for members only or can be shown publicly. Public items are checked by a curator first. Members-only items can only be seen by signed-in members.
Sharing photos and stories
Only share photos you took or have permission to share. Please be respectful when naming people and describing events. The curators may edit or remove content that is inaccurate, private or unkind.
Asking for something to be removed
Anyone can ask for a photo, story or their name on the honour roll to be removed or changed. Email the curators and we will act on it promptly.
